Sales Executive – Financial Services
Sales | Remote – UK, ideally with easy airport access
JOB PURPOSE
As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the Financial Services sector. You will develop an existing warm desk and execute the sales strategy and tactics, owning the full end-to-end sales cycle to ensure timely closure of deals while building strong relationships with new and existing clients.
Primary targets will include Exchanges (CME, Euronext, LSEG), Sell-Side Firms (JP Morgan, HSBC, BGC Partners), Market Data Providers (Bloomberg, Morningstar, S&P Global) and Buy-Side Firms (Citadel, BlackRock, Millenium Partners).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, engage and develop new business opportunities within a defined territory and named accounts.
- Own the full sales cycle, from initial outreach and qualification through to negotiation and deal closure.
- Develop and maintain senior relationships across target accounts, including business and technical stakeholders.
- Drive new customer acquisition through proactive outbound activity, including cold calling, email campaigns and social selling.
- Collaborate with marketing on lead generation campaigns and follow up effectively on inbound and outbound leads.
- Manage ongoing sales orders from customers (add-ons, upsells and renewals) and, as needed, meet customers at their location or host them on-site.
- Identify client needs and new upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for client issues, coordinating with internal PreSales and Professional Services teams to ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
- Answer or arrange for the answer of RFIs and RFPs within stipulated timescales and delivery requirements.
- Stay informed of new solutions, product enhancements, regulatory changes, industry trends and other relevant information.
- Work with PreSales consultants and others as required to present in-depth demonstrations and solution presentations.
- Develop and promote product image and awareness, including attending key industry events.
- Maintain client information in HubSpot CRM and provide reporting to management as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Requirements
- A proven track record of at least 7 years in B2B software sales, ideally selling middleware technology and services to the financial services sector at Business Head and C-level.
- An excellent understanding of the banking and finance area and of software licensing, gained in either a client or vendor environment.
- First-class new business development skills, with experience in prospecting and building pipelines.
- Commercially driven with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- An understanding of the complexity of the commercial sales process.
- Flexibility to travel in pursuit of objectives.
- Strong networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across the financial services sector, leveraging industry events, professional communities and existing contacts to generate opportunities and stay close to market trends.

In addition to the above it would be advantageous for candidates to have some knowledge of the following:
- Prior exposure to real-time data, streaming or event-driven architectures.
- An existing network of contacts across Exchanges, Sell-Side, Market Data or Buy-Side firms.
